Stacey Wallace, director of Winn-Dixie store No. 723 in North Fort Myers, Florida, said she was ecstatic to learn that her store was recognized with an award for best grocer in North Fort Myers, Florida.

As she shared the news with Regional Vice President Joey Medina, Wallace said it felt good to beat the store’s major local competitor.

The “Best Grocer in North Fort Myers” Award is part of the Best of North Fort Myers, sponsored by the North Fort Myers Neighbor, a local newspaper.

“We know that there are a lot of local businesses that go above and beyond and the Best of North Fort Myers program is a way for readers to say ‘thank you’ to those who do,” said Neighbor Publisher Scott Blonde.

“It’s such an honor to get this kind of recognition and to know that readers in our local community are the ones who voted for us,” Wallace said. “We would never have gotten this award without the effort of our awesome team. It’s a whole team effort!”

Wallace said she attributes much of the success in becoming the Best Grocer in North Fort Myers to community involvement and excellent customer service. Her store has a strong partnership with three local schools, which she believes gives the store a lot of public recognition. She said her store team works hard to make sure they are giving great service to everyone who visits the store because they know great service can make a huge difference in a customer’s day.
